Padel grass is specialized, low-pile (10-12mm) artificial turf designed for optimal ball bounce, player safety, and durability, typically using texturized monofilament or fibrillated fibers. It requires sand infill to maintain stability and, in some cases, a World Padel Tour (WPT) standard. The most common professional pile height is 12mm. Common colors include blue, green, and red.
Padel turf is designed for both indoor and outdoor use, with excellent drainage to remain playable after rain. The sand infill ensures that the turf remains secure, and the fibres are designed to withstand high-intensity, everyday use
Padel turf is specifically designed with a lower pile height (usually 10mm-12mm) and a high density (or “thatched” texture) to ensure consistent ball bounce and player grip. Regular garden grass is too soft and fluffy, which would absorb the ball’s energy and affect the game.
While DIY is possible for small areas, we highly recommend professional installation for competition-standard courts. Proper joining of seams, securing the perimeter, and ensuring the surface is perfectly flat is crucial for player safety and game accuracy. High-quality Padel turf typically lasts 5 to 10 years, depending on frequency of use, weather exposure (UV rays), and maintenance. Professional clubs playing 10+ hours a day might replace it sooner than a private backyard court.
Yes, all professional-grade Padel turf is treated with UV stabilizers to prevent fading and brittleness from sun exposure. We recommend asking your supplier for a UV test certificate.
